The Brief

Originally this was booked to capture a couple of new starters and update PR imagery for the Leeds office. As often happens, once the cameras were rolling the brief expanded — with directors, teams, and even a few volunteers keen to jump in for fresh headshots.

How We Shot It

  1. Headshots: New joiners first, then more staff joined in as the mood lifted.
  2. Director portraits: Relaxed setup in the communal area — coffees, comfy chairs, large W logo and a big plant in the background for warmth and approachability.
  3. Full team shots: Taken in the office with depth, using flash behind the group to light walls and create rim-lighting.
  4. Team sets: Asset team with Allan and Dan, then combined shots with Paul’s commercial team.
  5. Action-style: Laptop on the desk with live tethering — staff saw photos appear instantly, which explains the genuine smiles (Abigail and Dan in particular!).

It was a Friday, so everyone had that end-of-week buzz — relaxed faces, real laughter, and none of the stiff “corporate photo day” vibes.

People & Culture

Having photographed Walker Singleton over several years, I know most of the staff by name now — which helps a lot. Familiarity takes the edge off nerves and adds a sense of fun and banter. That shows through in these photos more than most shoots. This wasn’t just “line up for a photo”, it was more like a catch-up with friends who happened to be in suits.

What We Delivered

  • Headshots: New starters plus extras — clean, modern, and consistent.
  • Directors’ PR imagery: Relaxed coffee-table portraits with branding in the background.
  • Full team photos: Office-backed groups with depth and lighting finesse.
  • Action/working shots: Genuine smiles thanks to live laptop tethering.
  • PR-ready library: Plenty of fresh, flexible images for ongoing use.

Results

What began as a small update shoot turned into a lively, full-team session. The Leeds office now has a refreshed bank of headshots, PR images, and group photos that feel friendly, professional, and very “Walker Singleton”. The relaxed Friday mood, plus some lighthearted tethered shooting, brought out the best in everyone.

Suggested Uses
