Case Study: E-commerce and Lifestyle Photography for Steptronic Shoes
Client:
Steptronic, a men’s shoe brand targeting middle-aged gentlemen with extremely comfortable and flexible shoes, boots, and trainers.
Objective:
To capture high-quality e-commerce images for new boots and trainers, ensuring consistency with previous shoots, as well as creative studio and lifestyle images showcasing the shoes in natural settings.
Approach:
Our approach was designed to maintain brand consistency for Steptronic’s online shop while adding creative and lifestyle elements to highlight the versatility and comfort of their footwear.
Stage 1: E-commerce Photography in Lucas Studios, Farsley, Leeds
The primary objective was to capture clean and consistent e-commerce images on white backgrounds. These images needed to match the style of previous shoots to ensure a cohesive look across Steptronic’s online shop. We focused on:
- Simplicity and Clarity: Each shoe was photographed individually against a white background to emphasize details and craftsmanship.
- Uniformity: Consistent lighting, angles, and positioning were used to create a uniform look for all product images.
Stage 2: Creative Studio Photography
In addition to standard e-commerce images, we captured creative studio shots to showcase the design and flexibility of the shoes. This involved:
- Dynamic Poses: Highlighting the flexibility and comfort of the shoes through various poses and arrangements.
- Detailed Close-ups: Focusing on the texture, stitching, and materials to convey quality and craftsmanship.
Stage 3: Lifestyle Photography in Leeds
To add a lifestyle element, we ventured outdoors into the Leeds area for dynamic and engaging shots. This included:
- Nature Settings: Capturing the shoes in natural environments to emphasize their comfort and versatility.
- In-Use Shots: Photographing models wearing the shoes in various outdoor settings to show how they fit into everyday life.
Challenges:
The main challenge was balancing the need for clean, consistent e-commerce images with the desire for creative and engaging lifestyle shots. Coordinating the shoot to achieve both objectives required careful planning and flexibility.
Results:
The final collection of photographs provided Steptronic with a comprehensive set of images that perfectly blend e-commerce precision with creative and lifestyle appeal.
